weekend and photos
Played tennis yesterday morning.
Watched Red Cliff at 11.40pm last night. It’s not the best time to watch a movie that’s longer than 2 hours long with more than enough scenes of soldiers spearing other soldiers. The movie seemed more for the purpose of character introduction and development and I never recalled Zhuge Liang ever looking so good and having a sense of humour.. The movie was quite draggy and seemed choppy at times although I must admit some scenes were really quite good. My desire to watch the movie for any other purpose than kaneshiro was blunted by watching Three Kingdoms on dvd in the start of the week. Well filmed movie though…
Youth Sunday at church today, meaning every visible person serving in the Sanctuary was a youth. Kor led worship service today, which was interestingly different from other services. Other than Kor being tons younger than anyone who’s ever led, instead of a sermon we watched the jubilee dvd, church celebrating 50 years. 50 is incredible I think, and seeing church members recall and retell stories from yonks ago made me remember growing up in church: pink choir robes, sitting on tiny chairs in church, being an angel in a christmas play and returning to the main church for kor’s wedding and seeing all the friends from youth fellowship with their kids in tow. Recounting blessings as I watched the dvd. Worship was good too, the songs were familiar and it felt like I was back in ccf. Good cos when we sang, ” How great is our God”, it really felt like it was from the heart and soul.
I miss the worship team, the random ha-ing (harmonising) that we would do and break down laughing when someone ha-ed offkey, the immense presence of the Lord when we played or sang with one sole purpose of praising.
Spending time at home alone, trying to clear out things that have accumulated over the years has not been the most fun. I managed to clear out enough books to actually have ONE empty bookshelf. The temperature and humidity here is not great for books. The pages have started browning and turning spotty, feels like old photographs with the sepia tone, reminding you of how time has passed.
view of Spore, complete with threatening dark clouds…
Happy Day!
